Rouge is a neighborhood in the northeastern area of Toronto, Ontario, within the former city of Scarborough. It is Toronto's larger neighborhood by surface area.
It is bordered on the north by Steeles Avenue East, on the east by the Pickering Town Line and the Rouge River, on the south by Lake Ontario, and on the west by Port Union Road, Kingston Road, Highway 401, Morningside Avenue, Finch Avenue East, and Markham Road.
The Rouge neighborhood is bundled between the Metro Toronto Zoo on the north, the Rouge River Valley on the east.
The natural beauty of this area instantly comes into focus along Sheppard Avenue, which brings a spectacular view of the Rouge River Valley.
The Tall Pines Park and Neighborhood Center is situated at 64 Rylander Boulevard, over the Abbey Lane Shopping Center which combines a large supermarket, a pharmacy, banks, restaurants, a pet store, a hair salon, a post office, and an indoor children's playground.
Rouge Park, which forms the eastern edge of this neighbourhood, is suitable with nature enthusiasts, hikers, joggers, and cross-country skiers. It is also the site of the Glen Rouge campground, which has over one hundred camp sites.
Beyond its official arrangement, Rouge can be subdivided into smaller neighborhoods more commonly known as West Rouge, Rouge Hill, and Hillside, among others.
