It’s certainly "worth the drive to Acton."
Acton is a community situated in the Town of Halton Hills, in Halton Region, Ontario. The town is placed at the intersection of Highway 7 and Halton Regional Road 25.
The town's location was picked because of the fine source of waterpower from the Black Creek. It is also nearby the watershed between the Credit River and the Grand River and that is just west of the urban area, where the Blue Springs Creek begins.
Acton also has Fairy Lake at Prospect Park, which is the range for the Acton Fall Fair every September.
The Acton range of the Halton Hills Public Library is situated at 17 River Street. The Library with its park like surroundings opened in 1967 as the community's centennial project and encompasses a small arched bridge.
Acton still enjoys the history of the settlers who established this once small village. Although the residents and the town have expanded through the years, Acton is still admitted for its small, peaceful and friendly atmosphere. It’s certainly "worth the drive to Acton."
