Dentistry From The Heart- September 10, 2016

Posted on Sep 28, 2016 by Torbram Dental

Hi Friends,
On Saturday, September 10, 2016 we hosted our fourth annual Free Day of Dentistry, ‘Dentistry From the Heart’, which was a great success. It was another day of hugs and smiles, laughter and giving, and some happy tears!
Upon arriving at 7:30am, the lineup was already very established and the need was evident. We opened the doors at 7:30am for registration and began seeing patients immediately on a first come first serve basis. With the help of our outstanding team, we were grateful to be able to help people from Brampton, the GTA and as far as 2-3 hours away! Over $13,000 worth of free care was provided. We also collected over 21 pounds of non-perishable food items for the local food bank!
There are many people to whom I wish to express my sincerest appreciation for their generous gift of time and talent. You all worked so hard to make this day happen and flow seamlessly. There is so much preparation that goes into an endeavor such as this!
I would like to acknowledge and thank Danielle and Simrit who organized this year's event and ensured a smooth day. Thank you also to Megan, Stephanie, who were at the front door registering the patients, not an easy task!
Upon entering the dental office, the patients were then greeted by Simrit and Rita (again out of retirement!) who were stationed at the reception desk to ensure that all the paper work was in order. Dr. Maria Grignano then triaged the patients for suitability of care.
I also would like to acknowledge and thank our dental assistants and clinical team: Lubna, Naudia and Raman. They were busy assisting during treatment, turning over rooms, sterilizing and coaching the group of student dental assistants from Medix College: Laila, Mandeep, Paras and Kamaljit that participated as well.
And finally, I want to acknowledge and thank the team of dental caregivers who gave generously of their talents: Thank you to Dr. Zaid Babahami as wells as our team of talented hygienists: Sally, Tonia, and Jenna.
Our sponsors for the event included Sinclair Dental, K- Dental, Sharper Cards and Clinical Research!
It was a great way to give back to our community, and we look forward to the event next year and another amazing day!
