Wexford is a neighborhood in Toronto, Ontario. It is situated in the eastern part of the city, on the western end of the district of Scarborough, covering Lawrence Avenue East between Victoria Park Avenue and Birchmount Road.
An international batch of food shops and restaurants can be found on Lawrence Avenue.This blend includes East and West Indian, Caribbean, African, Mediterranean, Greek and Italian businesses.
The Golden Mile shopping mall located on the north side of Eglinton Avenue east of Victoria Park Avenue was the biggest shopping mall in Canada when it opened in 1954. Today this mall is binded by a large department store and a supermarket, and also includes a handful of smaller retailers and a dental centre.
The biggest park in this neighborhood is Wexford Park, which has a baseball diamond, sports fields, a children's playground and plenty of recreational greenspace.
The Church of St. Jude (Wexford) was once the Anglican church to the small village of Wexford, and withstand today as a landmark in the modern urban area. The area inheres of mostly post-World War II type bungalow housing, apartments, retail and commercial space.
