Canada's Capital

Ottawa is located in Eastern Ontario on the south bank of the Ottawa River, and is the capital city of Canada. It has the second-largest population of any city in Ontario, second only to Toronto.
Ottawa hosts a variety of annual seasonal activities – such as Winterlude, the largest festival in Canada, and Canada Day celebrations on Parliament Hill and surrounding downtown area. It also hosts Bluesfest, the Canadian Tulip Festival, the Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival, the Ottawa International Jazz Festival, and Folk Music Festival, which have grown to become some of the largest festivals of their kind in the world.
Ottawa is also home to several national museums, including the National Gallery of Canada, the Canadian War Museum, the Canadian Museum of Nature, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, and many others. Ottawa’s Rideau Canal is the oldest continuously operated canal system in North America.
Sports fans can enjoy an Ottawa Senators National Hockey League game at the Canadian Tire Centre, or an Ottawa Redblacks Canadian Football League game at the TD Place Stadium.
Ottawa has two main public universities, the University of Ottawa, and Carleton University; as well as two main public colleges, Algonquin College and La Cite College.
As Canada’s capital city and one of the largest cities in Ontario, there is definitely something for everyone in Ottawa.
