Bradford West Gwillimbury

Situated along the Holland River, Bradford West Gwillimbury is afforded with beaches, ski hills, and beautiful waterways. The town is also home, to the Canada’s ‘vegetable basket’ the Holland Marsh. Settled in the 1930s but Dutch immigrants, the fertile marsh has grown to 8,500 hectares

Since 1979 the town hosts the Marsh Mash canoe and kayak race. Located along the canals of the Holland Marsh. The race is judged by the Ontario Marathon Canoe and Kayak Racing Association with races ranging from 5km to 24km.

Coulson Hills doubles as a cross country and mountain biking trail that is free to use. During the spring and summer, the town hosts weekly mountain biking races.

Located within the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority, The Scanlon Creek Conservation area contains hiking trails, vast forestry, marshland and glacial erratics. During the spring the area is flooded with wildflowers, migrating birds. The four hectare reservoir is a popular picnic spot during the summer months.
