Alexander Sevastien at CrossCurrents Cafe - a Spellbinding Performance
Alexander Sevastian, a recent performer at CrossCurrents Cafe, may well be the best accordionist in the world. He's won four world competitions and placed second or third in numerous others. His repertoire is classical and traditional. The audience Friday, February 10, was awestruck by the brilliance of his technique. His interpretations were compelling, emotional and powerful. Sevastien brought a combination of musicianship, experience and passion that made for a thrilling concert. After a standing ovation, he left to join his renowned group, Quartetto Gelato for a concert in Mexico.
CrossCurrents Caledon was created in the Spring of 2015 by a group of roughly a dozen volunteers, with the goal of bringing together quality musical performers and attentive, enthusiastic audiences. In our first two years, we have presented concerts as diversified as Irish/Celtic, Canadian Folk, Cuban Traditional, Neuvo Flamenco, French Gypsy Jazz, Bluegrass, Nigerian, Russian, Jewish Kletzmer, Classical and much more, with many exciting, exotic and unique performances to come. Admission is always free, and performers are paid via donations to our tip jar. We offer baked goods as well as tea/coffee/water and free parking.
