Riverfront Parks

Windsor is the southernmost city in Canada, located on the southern shore of the Detroit River. Detroit, Michigan is directly across the river. Windsor is significant contributor to Canada’s automotive industry, and is also home to many historic streets and buildings.
There are many parks in Windsor too, the largest being Mic Mac Park, which can accommodate many different activities including baseball, soccer, biking, and sledding. Windsor also has numerous bike trails, with Ganatchio Trail, located on the far-east side of the city, being the largest one.
Windsor has an extensive riverfront parks system that stretches across the city. The western portion of the largest park contains the Windsor Sculpture Park which features over 30 large-scale contemporary sculptures for public viewing, along with the Canadian Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The central portion contains Dieppe Gardens, Civic Terrace and Festival Plaza, and the eastern portion is home to the Bert Weeks Memorial Gardens.
Windsor tourist attractions include Caesars Windsor, a lively downtown club scene, Little Italy, the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, the Art Gallery of Windsor, the Odette Sculpture Park, Adventure Bay Water Park, and Ojibway Park.
Each summer Windsor co-hosts the two-week-long Windsor-Detroit International Freedom Festival, which features a gigantic fireworks display that celebrates Canada Day and Independence Day in the United States. The fireworks display is one of the largest in the world, and is held over the Detroit River between the two downtowns on the final Monday in June. The event attracts over a million spectators to both sides of the riverfront each year.
