Mimico is a neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario. It is situated in the south-west area of Toronto, along Lake Ontario.Mimico is the oldest of the earlier Lakeshore Municipalities.
Lake Shore Boulevard is a four-lane magistral that runs parallel to the Lake Ontario lakefront from east to west, and is primarily residential within the Mimico area. The major north-south route is Royal York Road.
Mimico is mainly a residential area, dwellers are well supplied by the shopping districts on Lake Shore Boulevard and on Royal York Road. These shopping areas feature an sterling variety of small locally owned stores and restaurants.
Mimico is recognized for its sports clubs and recreational facilities. Much of this enterprise takes place at the Mimico Arena situated off Royal York Road at Drummond Street.
Near Park Lawn Road is Humber Bay Park, land organized by infill of the lake, creating an artificial peninsula and encompass Mimico Harbour at Mimico Creek. It has a few picnic spaces, boat slips, walking trails and grasslands for recreational use.
