Enchanting park cornered the district
Alexandra Park is a neighbourhood located in downtown Toronto, Ontario. It is bordered by Dundas Street West on the north, Spadina Avenue on the east, Queen Street West on the south, and Bathurst Street on the west.
Alexandra Park has two recognizable communities that are literally intertwined within the streets of this neighbourhood. The old part of Alexandra Park consists of privately owned residences, while the newer sections of the neighbourhood are part of the Atkinson Housing Cooperative, which is presently being revived into a mixed-income, mixed-use neighbourhood.
Theatre Passe Muraille is stationed in the neighbourhood. Alexandra Park is the principal greenspace in this neighbourhood. It has an outdoor pool, an artificial ice rink and tennis courts and is part of Toronto's municipal park system.
This downtown neighbourhood is simply located right next door to the largest outdoor food vendor Kensington Market. Another favored shopping destination for Alexandra Park residents is Toronto's downtown Chinatown district gathered at the intersection of Dundas Street West and Spadina Avenue. Chinatown features imported goods from the Far East, as well as fresh fruit and vegetable stands and a plethora of Chinese restaurants.
